Karl August Leopold Böhm (August 28, 1894 in Graz – August 14, 1981 in Salzburg) was an Austrian conductor. He is widely considered to be one of the greatest conductors of the 20th century.

Karl Böhm's recordings tend to be longer, which is what I like about him most. I almost only regularly listen to Böhm's recording of Beethoven's Ninth with the Wiener Philharmoniker because only then can I hear every word and note clearly rather than have them scrappily slip by, as is the case with Karajan.
